Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7

Father, in Your mercy, hear our prayers.

I would like it if the church could pray for our Eli, he is currently sick, again. He has a bad upper respitory infection and his asthma is acting up. We really would like to be home for christmas this year instead of in Children's hospital like usual, so if the church could pray we would appreciate it!
Thank you

Pastor Keith:

I would greatly appreciate it if you would consider a prayer request for my dear friend and close business associate; Raymond D. Workman. Recently, he and I worked together on a financial transaction for which WE were presently working out the details to receive said funds.

Last Tuesday early morning, (10/30/07, 1AM) my close friend and business associate was at his kitchen table when he fail out of his chair, onto the kitchen floor and had a "massive" heart attack. He resided in Marion, North Carolina. He lived out in the "sticks" to coin a phrase. So, a lengthy matter of minutes went by before the ambulance EMT's got to him. It was at least 7-10 minutes before they got their all the while he went without oxygen, lying on the floor, still. He was a rightous and religious man and of his word. He was taken to the nearby hospital as he began to run a very high temperature. (approx. 107 degrees) He was unconscious the entire time. On Thursday night at about 6:20pm, my firend made his peace with God and passed away. Those who were present heard my friend mumble a few words but could not make out what he was saying. Suddenly, his arms and hands flew upward as if he was praising God and for a minute or two, they stayed raised. Then they both simultaneously lowered and he was gone. He went home to be with the Lord.

Pastor Keith, would you mention my firend Raymond D. Workman tonight? It has now fallen onto my shoulders to make sure that his wishes in a business sense are carried through. But that's not important to me right now. I miss those regularly scheduled phone calls and working with him. He always wanted to help those who could not help themselves or disadvantaged. My firend wanted to help those who really needed assistance without any government interference. My friend lived for, studied and spoke verse often. My firend was (IS) a Christian.

"Thank You, Pastor Keith."

Sincerely,

Wes Dodrill
